Continuing the Tradition: Passing of the Flag

A member of the Class of 1971 will pass a guidon to a senior member of the Dauntless Battalion. This tradition symbolizes the continuation of the honor and legacy of PMC. 

Wreath Laying Ceremony for the Classes of 1970 & 1971

All PMC alumni are invited. 

The classes of 1970 & 1971 will host a joint wreath laying ceremony to honor their deceased classmates. This event will be for members of the Class of 1970 and 1971 and their guests. 

Dedication of Class of 1970 Marker and Bench
11:30am - Noon | PMC Memorial Garden | Free for attendees
All PMC alumni are invited. 

All PMC alumni are invited to join the Class of 1970 in a dedication ceremony of the Class of 1970 Marker and Bench in the PMC Memorial Garden. 

Voices from Freedom: PMC Oral History - Class of 1971
Noon - 1:00pm | Alumni Auditorium | Free for attendees
All PMC alumni are invited. 

All PMC alumni are invited to view the oral history project live on Memorial Field. This year's oral history participants are the Class of 1971. 


All PMC Village Experience Honoring the Classes of 1950, 1951, 1955, 1960, 1961, 1962, 1965, 1966, 1970, 1971 featuring the ROTC Military Skills Competition

All PMC alumni are invited.  

All PMC alumni are invited to attend the PMC Village Experience, which will honor the reunion classes who celebrated milestone reunions during the past several years. 

The event will feature:

  • Lunch including beer and wine with class specific seating so you can easily find your classmates
  • Class photos for each class
  • Live music
  • And the always-popular ROTC Military Skills Competition hosted by the Dauntless Battalion

The Hidden History of Widener Tour
3:00pm | Lobby of Alumni Auditorium | Free for Attendees

The Hidden History of Widener tour seeks to narrate a conjoined history of Chester and the university in the mid-twentieth century. Uncover details about this "hidden history" by taking the QR-code enabled tour (available all day) or attending the 3pm "curator's tour" led by two student creators.

PMC Class of 1915 Banner Unveiling
Time: 3:30 (following PMC Village Experience) | University Center Atrium | Free for attendees
All PMC alumni are invited. 

Widener University is proud to prominently display the Class of 1915 Banner in the University Center Atrium. This artifact is an important visual reminder of Widener’s centuries old foundation and heritage of the Pennsylvania Military College. We will unveil this banner as a part of the inaugural Founders Day celebration following the PMC Village Experience. All PMC alumni are welcome to attend. More details forthcoming.

Pride-A-Palooza
Time: 4- 6:30pm | Memorial Field | Free for attendees
All alumni are invited. 

The entire Widener community is invited to culminate our Founders Day celebration at Pride-A-Palooza!  Join fellow alumni, faculty, staff, students, and WU families from 4-6:30 p.m. on Memorial Field for a festival-style event featuring a 200th cake cutting ceremony, games for all ages, food trucks and beer garden, student performances, and so much more! 

If there is severe inclement weather, all outdoor PMC events will take place under the tent on Memorial Field.

Parking Information

Complimentary parking is available in Library lot, which is located directly behind Wolfgram Memorial Library. This lot is reserved for Founders Day attendees and is located close to Memorial Field. To view the location, please visit our Campus Parking Map.
