🧭 Become a Mentor

As a Widener graduate, you have a powerful story—and students want to hear it. Whether you're sharing advice during a classroom panel, reviewing a resume, or offering words of encouragement, your insight can help students navigate uncertainty, build confidence, and take the next step with clarity.

Not sure what to say or how to help? Don’t worry—we’ll guide you. We're here to make mentoring simple, meaningful, and rewarding. To you, it might just be a conversation. To them, it could be the moment that changes everything.

We get it—“mentor” can sound like a big title. But students aren’t looking for perfection. They want to connect with others who’ve been where they are—real people with real stories who remember what it was like to be figuring things out.

You don’t need decades of experience, a fancy title, or all the answers. If you’ve applied for a job, changed directions, made a mistake, or figured something out the hard way—you have something valuable to share.

What matters most? Showing up. Being honest. Offering encouragement.
That’s what mentorship looks like. And yes, you can do it.

What’s the difference between a job, internship, and micro-internship?

  • Job Listings: Part-time or full-time employment opportunities for students or graduates. Jobs may be short-term or ongoing and often align with a student’s skills, interests, and career goals.
  • Internships: Structured, short-term professional experiences (usually one semester or summer) designed to provide career-related learning. Internships may be paid or unpaid, but all emphasize mentorship and skill development.
  • Micro-Internships: Small, project-based assignments (typically 5–40 hours total) that can be completed remotely or in person. Micro-internships allow you to get help on specific tasks while giving students real-world experience and professional connections.
