Rosemary B. Beauregard Honored by Courthouse Portrait Unveiling

The Honorable Rosemary B. Beauregard, JD, law, the first woman in Delaware to serve as judge in the Court of Common Pleas was honored by unveiling her portrait in Courtroom A of the Sussex County Courthouse. Judge Alex Smalls, who attended the ceremony, said. “Diversity is a strength, particularly for the court system, and Judge Beauregard brought an important new perspective to our court and cleared a path for other women.” 

Rosemary B. Beauregard graduated with the class of 1983, earning a degree in law, before serving as a judge in the Delaware Court of Common Pleas.

Kevin Noel
Class of 1999

Senior Kevin Noel Appointed as Vice President for Finance & Administration at Project HOME

Kevin Noel, BS, business administration, (Dec. 2020) Bridge Partners is pleased to announce the appointment of Kevin Noel as Senior Vice President for Finance & Administration at Project HOME. Project HOME is a nationally recognized non-profit organization that provides housing, opportunities for employment, medical care and education to homeless and low-income persons living in the Philadelphia area. The mission of the Project HOME community is to empower adults, children, and families to break the cycle of homelessness and poverty, to alleviate the underlying causes of poverty, and to enable all of us to attain our fullest potential as individuals and as members of the broader society. Kevin Noel joins Project HOME from Northeast Treatment Centers, Inc. in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania where he served as Chief Financial Officer and Vice President of Administration. Previously, he served as Chief Financial Officer at Children & Families First of Delaware, Inc.

Prior, he worked as Director of Finance at Family & Workplace Connection, Inc. Kevin holds a MBA in Accounting from the University of Delaware and a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Widener University. Kevin is a highly accomplished, result-driven senior accounting and finance management executive with over 20 years of progressive experience in finance and operations management within large non-profit organizations in the human services and behavioral health sector. He brings to the role a demonstrated ability to streamline business operations that drive growth, increase efficiency and profitability. As Senior Vice president for Finance & Administration at Project HOME, he will partner with the current executive and senior leadership teams to provide financial and administrative leadership to support the complex and multi-faceted mission of the organization.

Kevin Noel graduated with the class of 1999 and a BS in Business Administration before going on to make his name as a finance and operations manager for several large-scale non-profit organizations.

Class of 1975 & 1977

Bill & Trish Guglielmi Honored for Contributions to the Boy and Girl Scouts of America

When Bill and Trish met at Widener in 1973, neither anticipated that Scouting would play such a role in their lives. Married for nearly 43 years and active with the Scouts for 30, the Guglielmis will be honored with the Soaring Eagle Award from the Greater Tampa Bay Area Council, Boy Scouts of America. The Guglielmis have also received countless other awards alongside their years of dedication with the Scouts.

Their legacy lives on—twin sons are both Eagle Scouts and U.S. Army Officers, their daughter is a Girl Scout Silver Award holder and an archivist at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. They have three grandchildren, one of whom is in Cub Scouts and two who are future Scouts. 

Bill Guglielmi graduated with the Class of 1975 with a bachelor's in government and politics. Trish Guglielmi graduated with the Class of 1977 with a bachelor's in community psychology. Bill is a retired Army officer and Lockheed Martin project manager. Trish is a retired guidance counselor from Hillsborough County public schools.

Class of 1985

Ernest Meyer appointed as executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical, Inc.

Ernest Meyer was recently appointed as executive Vice President and chief Human Resources officer for Ultragenyx Pharmaceutical, Inc, a biopharmaceutical company. In this position, Ernest will be managing all Human Resources, along with facilities operations. 

Before Ultragenyx, Ernest spent time as executive vice president at Portola Pharmaceuticals and Celgene, the latter of which he played a significant role in the company’s expansion. Before that, Ernest was a leading member of the Motorola team for 10 years. 

Ernest Meyer graduated with the class of 1985 with a bachelor's degree in management.

Class of 1989

Frank Dolce opens diverse Chester eatery Chef Reeky's

Alongside partner Tarik Ryant, Frank Dolce has established a Chester community staple with Chef Reeky's. Attached to the Holiday Inn, located right next to Widener's main campus, this diverse cultural eatery is open daily for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. 

If you're hungry, there's a good chance you'll find something tasty and to your liking on Chef Reeky's menu. 

Frank Dolce graduated with the class of 1989 with a BS in management.

James Morehead
Class of 1985

James Morehead chosen as replacement for West Chester borough police chief

Congratulations to James Morehead, who was chosen as Scott Bohn's replacement for chief of the West Chester borough police department. James enjoys a happy home-life with his high-school sweetheart Carolyn and two sons, Garrett and Christopher. 

After receiving his associate's degree from Widener, James completed his undergraduate education at West Chester University, and is currently continuing his studies at Wilmington University. As a member of the West Chester police department since 1989, James has work alongside the detective, SWAT, and narcotics department. Additionally, James attended the FBI National Academy in 2014 was responsible for the creation the West Chester Regional SWAT Team in 2001. 

James Morehead graduated with the class of 1985 with an AS in selected studies.

James VanSciver Publishes New Children's Book

Dr. James H. VanSciver has published his fifth book: Hi! I'm Elvis. In the book, a Sheltie pup gives advice to children. For a personalized, signed copy, email paulamv723@gmail.com. Copies can also be found at Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and Xlibris. VanScriver's four other books are Close Play at Home, Carnage of a Curveball, Running on Empty, and Generalities of Distinction. 

James VanSciver graduated with the Class of 1972 with a bachelor's degree in behavioral science.

Mark Zamrowksi
Class of 1999

Mark Zamrowski appointed as senior project executive at Gilbane Building Company

Mark Zamrowski has joined the Special Projects Group division of Gilbane Building Company as senior project executive. In this position, Mark is responsible for SPG operations in Philadelphia. Mark has been making his mark in the industry for 25 years, managing projects in the commercial, healthcare, and educational realm, and he specializes in quality controlled renovation and remodeling. 

Aside from Gilbane, Mark has worked alongside various companies in the greater Philadelphia area, including Main Line Health, Penn Medicine, Temple University Hospital, Drexel University, and LaSalle University. 

Mark Zamrowski graduated with the class of 1999 with an ME in civil engineering.

Patricia Scherle
Class of 1994

Patricia A. Scherle hired as vice president of patient care services and chief nursing officer at St. Mary's Health System

Patricia A. Scherle will serve as Vice President for St. Mary's patient care services and chief nursing officer, making her responsible for  implementing and coordinating programs and initiatives to ensure  the best possible patient care. 

Patricia's former positions included Vice President and chief nursing office of Philadelphia's Chestnut Hill Hospital alongside her tenure with Tower Health/ Community Health Systems. 

Patricia A. Scherle graduated with the class of 1994 with a BS in Nursing and again with the class of 1999 with an MS in health administration.

Susan Looney
Class of 1997

Susan Looney appointed as vice chair of Reading Hospital Board of Trustees

Susan Looney was recently elected as vice chair of the Reading Hospital Board of Trustees, where she will help in the hospital's mission to provide the highest quality healthcare to its community. 

Aside from joining the Board of Trustees in 2019, Susan is president of Reading Area Community College and has been a college educator for 22 years, previously working as professor, assistant to the campus director, and director of corporate and community programs at Delaware Technical Community College, in addition to interim assistant vice president of academic affairs at Colorado Mountain College

Susan Looney graduated with the class of 1997 with a JD in law.
